That clicking sound usually means your opener’s trying to work but something’s stopping it. In my 20+ years servicing the Northern Beaches, I’ve found this is often caused by a stripped gear in the motor – especially common here because our salty air corrodes the metal components faster. The opener’s getting the signal to work (hence the clicking), but the worn gear can’t engage the chain or belt. Most remotes have a small button you hold for about 10-15 seconds until the LED light changes.
